I am Atharva Tatkare and I am currently working in an automobile company in California. I have recently completed my MS degree from Columbia University. I joined Tahaan in January 2019 and was working as an HR member.

While I was working at Tahaan, I had a lot of memorable experiences.  I had the opportunity to meet a lot of influential people from different fields and learned a lot from them.  One of my most unforgettable memory would be meeting the Finance and Forest Minister of Maharashtra- Mr. Sudhir Mungantiwar on behalf of Tahaan. Other than that, the regular planning and arranging of monthly meets with other HR members, wall painting we did on the occasion of Holi are experiences that will always stay dear to me. I really enjoyed assisting other HR members in the recruitment process.

I learned a lot about what leadership, team building, project planning meant, from the tasks given to me. I got to learn and understand, the implementation of different ways by which one can save water. Being an engineer, I got an opportunity to use some of my engineering skills when we designed a low-cost well water wheel. The monthly meets were fun, I got a chance to meet a lot of new and old members of Tahaan.

We discussed many different projects which we could work on. Most of the people came up with many innovative ideas. I especially liked and appreciated the fact that at Tahaan, if the ideas put forth were good, then team members/volunteers were ready to implement or start working on those ideas without a day’s delay. Everyone at Tahaan is always active and on their toes and always up for a challenge. Although I am no more actively working with Tahaan, this organization is and will always be special to me.
